Always looking for something.........

it seems as though I am always looking for something! Now I am wondering how much of my time that 'looking' is consuming?? Example, had to look for this blog!! :-) Oh well, such is life. Could be worst but at least I did find it. Well, yesterday PrissyB and I ventured over to Princeton for breakfast at PJ's Pancakes House on Nassau Street in Princeton. Surprisingly we were up and out early so it was just the right size crowd by the time we arrived. We had lunch there last Sunday after visiting Terhune Farms (picking cherries). By the way, Terhune Farms is a really neat place and we are planning to return to pick peaches next month. Funny that I never thought of New Jersey as being a farm state. Well, to my surprise South Jersey is a wealth of farms and roadside markets where you can pick up locally grown produce!! Okay, I ramble, back to PJ's! I guess that is why I am always losing things, to include my thoughts, because I get sidetracked onto another topic or task. May think about working on changing that. Anyway, PrissyB wanted to try the pancakes at PJ's so off we went. After browsing through the menu we decided on a half order of pancakes, buttermilk for her and pecan for me. A half order consisted of three plate sized pancakes. A whole order is five and I cannot imagine eating five. Found it difficult to finish the three I had and so did Chelsea. Very fluffy, perfectly browned with somewhat ragged edges!! Very good pancakes but for me the pecans were not fresh. It's kinda difficult to expect fresh pecans this time of year but I think if they were to toast the pecans prior to adding to pancake batter it remove some of that 'not so fresh' taste. Thankfully I only ordered one side order of bacon for the two of us...it consisted of at least eight slices of bacon. So much more than enough for the two of us. PrissyB enjoyed her pancakes but had some difficulty with the grape jelly. She had to try and remove enough jelly for three pancakes from those lil jelly squares. That was a bit of a disappointment for her. Po baby! Maybe one day she will decide to occasionally have her pancakes with syrup rather than grape jelly. Overall, we left happy. I have decided that if you want everything perfect to your liking then you should stay home and do things the way you like it. Otherwise be prepared to accept that there may be times that EVERYTHING is not as you would like it to be and cherish those times when it is. But if ever in Princeton, NJ, check out the pancakes at PJ's Pancake House. I don't think you will be disappointed. Til later............
